This one flew right over our heads during the annual April Fool’s rush. A tweet back at the end of March announced that the “last episode” of Hibiki no Mahou would be published in the May 2016 edition of the monthly magazine Comp Ace.

Hibiki’s Magic is a manga written by Jun Maeda and illustrated by Rei Izumi. This last chapter is entitled “Sudachi no Mahou”, or Fledgling’s Magic, and the May 2016 edition of the Comp Ace went on sale on March 26.

I have yet to read any of the series myself, but many of our members have praised it as an entertaining and cute story. It’s always sad to see something old and beloved like this come to and end, but there’s also a certain pride that comes with its completion.

The first two volumes have been localized by TokyoPop in paperback, and more recently by Viz Media in digital. We’ve yet to hear any news of bringing the rest of the story to the West, but as with anything, it’s much more likely to happen if you (yes, you) go buy the first two.
